All About Caring

A day or two ago , my brother fell sick suddenly. His blood pressure was alarmingly high . everyone felt very worried about his health condition.

No mood for the usual chatting at the dining table . His very loving wife hurriedly went to the backyard to get some herbs for him to take. Meanwhile, his thoughtful daughter-in-law drove to the supermarket nearby to buy some celery leaves which are well-known as ' good friends ' for the high B/P patients. I was earnestly asked by his concerned son to ' brainwash' his father so that he could get rid of his seemingly- wrong habits of taking his medication and doing exercise next time. My younger brother , halfway through his meal , rushed upstairs to see for himself his brother's health condition.

Wau ! News really spread fast . His daughters in Kuching also got the news. They were equally worried and showed deep concern about his well-being. I was asked to pray for my brother's health.( Note : I am the only Christian in the family ) . which I did so immediately. I was asked to make a decision to rush him to the hospital if his condition was critical. By the way, his 7-year-old granddaughter in Kuching also felt the concern for the grandpa . This is good . We, adults have to be the role models for the youngones .

In short , we were drawn closer to each other. CONCERN for my brother was the sole element in our hearts. Thanks , GOD ! After some time,my brother's condition was not deteriorating. His B/P was under control. Wau ! It was a relief to all of us .later , it was agreed that a ' nurse ' and an ' assisstant nurse ' should be appointed in the family. Their main role is to monitor the taking of medicine by my brother. They will start their new and important post with effect from the next day.

All these small gestures of love are what we as parents are yearning for. We are not after a treat to the high-class restaurant for an expensive and authentic dinner Nor are we craving for parents' Day luxurious gifts. The mre important thing is we are happier and satisfied when we feel that we are cared and concerned by our loved ones. This is indeed invaluable.
